Recent Development

A recent ground swell of opinion towards secession in Scotland has taken most commentators by surprise. http://www.economist.com/news/britain/21595429-battle-scotland-will-be-decided-group-people-who-rarely-get-change Maybe due to increased risk of blow-back from Middle Eastern terrorists seeking revenge for British interference or maybe just a rise in nationalistic fervor in times of an unstable economy. The feeling now among those in the know (Source?) is not a matter of Yes or No but a matter of Yes by how much of a margin.

Some polls (Source?) reflect over 80% in favor of seceding from Britain although this changes dramatically in different areas with those in higher class neighborhoods inclined to side more with the status quo. In reality a Yes is dependent on voter turnout as historically voter turn out in more deprived areas is low.
