In einer parallelen Studie befragen wir derzeit namens GILT 1.000 Österreicherinnen und Österreicher im repräsentativen Mix (Geschlecht, Alter, Ausbildung, ...): "Wie zufriedenstellend oder problematisch finden Sie die derzeitige Lage in Österreich im Bereich Öffentlicher Dienst und Beamten?". Die Antwortmöglichkeiten reichen von "Sehr zufriedenstellend" bis "Sehr problematisch". An die Umfrage schließt ebenfalls ein Prognosemarkt an. Zur Abrechnung dieser Prognosefrage wird das Ergebnis der repräsentativen Studie herangezogen.

Öffentlicher Dienst / Beamte - Copyright: Fair useDer überwiegende Teil öffentlicher Leistungen wird in Österreich von Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern einer Gebietskörperschaft, also von Bundes-, Landes- oder Gemeindebediensteten erbracht. Deren Gesamtheit wird gemeinhin als "Öffentlicher Dienst" bezeichnet. Die Grenzen dieses Begriffs sind jedoch fließend, denn gerade in den letzten Jahren kam es auf allen Verwaltungsebenen zu Ausgliederungen beziehungsweise wurde die Erfüllung öffentlicher Aufgaben auf Gesellschaften, Anstalten, Fonds et cetera übertragen, von denen einige nach wie vor zum staatlichen Sektor gezählt werden können.
